Songwriting Lessons

Learn the rules and principles of lyric writing. Understanding rhyme and rhythm, and how words can inject emotion into a phrase are key to creating the feelings you want out of a song. Study the techniques of the great writers through history. Learn how great song writers use these techniques to create the perfect emotion and deliver the message in unique ways.

We generally classify song writing lessons to the lyrics and word form, but understanding how these directly relate to the chords and melody give you the ability to create the full song. This is not to say that if you don’t play an instrument you can’t write songs. On the contrary many of the worlds best songwriters past and present don’t, but of course it does help to flesh out melodies and preview what it will sound like as you create.
