THE TENOR TERROR

As Vocal teachers for boys & young men, we are often brought songs that are too high for our students to comfortably sing.
Unfortunately, we are living in a time where Tenors are the main male voices filling the airwaves, leaving few role models for our students to aspire to & emulate.
A good tip for song selection is to google Bass and/or Baritones in popular music. It will provide you with a list of many male FAMOUS artists who sing in YOUR key. Be inspired by artists you’ve never listened to before & feel comfortable in your OWN true voice. If everyone is singing high, stand out & sing low. Your voice will thank you for it!
The same can be said for Contralto/Alto female singers. All it takes is a little research.
